Abstract
The technology relates to a framework for monitoring software state variables and deriving counters that record value change events using configurable counting techniques. The framework derives counters from software states by monitoring value changes in target variables and counting all value change events. The framework utilizes a fleet counter, a software-implemented memory storage which stores events that are readable by an external software entity. The framework may also select software state variables for monitoring based on the type of variable.
