Abstract
A technique is proposed for a user-selected content recommendation for content sharing platforms. An indication of selection criteria is received from a client device of a user. The selection criteria identify a content topic of interest to the user and/or one or more content providers of interest to the user. A set of content items corresponding to the selection criteria are identified from a content repository associated with a content sharing platform to define a restricted content repository associated with the user. A request for content is received from the client device. Responsive to a determination that the restriction mode is active, one or more content items are provided from the restricted content repository to the client device in response to the request. Responsive to a determination that the restriction mode is not active, one or more content items are provided from the platform content repository in response to the request.
