Abstract
This paper describes an immersive virtual content viewing system that contains 16 convex lens-based projection configurations where the 16 foal points of the 16 convex lens-based projection configurations will coincide at a one common single point in 3D space. The immersive virtual content viewing system will contain 16 projection configurations. Each projection configuration will contain a video projection display, a convex lens stack and a quadrilateral prism shaped transparent structure. In the immersive virtual content viewing system, each projection configuration will have the capability to project a projection that will be observable as a virtual image projection. And the containing 16 projection configurations will have the capability to collectively and concurrently project 16 projections that will be observable as 16 virtual image projections. In addition to that, the 16 focal points of the 16 convex lens-based projection configurations will coincide at a one common single point in 3D space. Furthermore, this collective spatial configuration of the containing 16 projection configurations will enable them to collectively provide a combined immersive virtual projection observing space. The immersive virtual content viewing system can be utilized in the dual configuration, one virtual system per each eye of the user of the virtual system, as an immersive virtual content viewing device.
