Abstract
This publication discloses a multi-dimensional haptic actuator (“MDHA”) for use in electronic devices, such as smartphones and tablet computers. Several of the disclosed MDHA’s components are uniquely configured and positioned in both the X plane and the Y plane to provide enhanced power-force efficiency in two or more directions, thereby enabling a wider range of user scenarios (e.g., additional vectorial sensations and different compositions of haptic frequencies) than are possible with traditional single-plane actuators.
