Abstract
This paper describes a projection system that contains 2 inwardly bent triangular prisms where 4 projections will be projected in an angular manner utilizing total internal reflection. The entire projection system consists of a top projection configuration and a bottom projection configuration. Each projection configuration will contain a projection observing main convex lens stack section, 2 projection procedure assisting secondary convex lens stack sections, 2 projection projecting video displays and a triangular prism. The top projection configuration and the bottom projection configuration will have the capability to collectively and concurrently project 4 image projections onto the field of view of the user of the projection system. The projected 4 image projections will be utilized in providing the user with a combined virtual content viewing area. The 2 projection configurations will be located in a bent formation relative to each other. This bent formation will allow the user to experience an inwardly bent projection observing area which will provide a greater immersion. The projection system can be utilized either in the vertical orientation or in the horizontal orientation, one projection system per each eye of the user in dual configuration mode, as a virtual content viewing device. When utilized in the vertical orientation, the projection system will enhance the immersion by providing a greater vertical field of view in a bent compact space. And when utilized in the horizontal orientation, the projection system will enhance the immersion by providing a greater horizontal field of view in a bent compact space.
