Abstract
This disclosure describes autofill techniques that enable a user to easily choose an optimal payment method when paying for purchases online. Per the techniques, a database of payment cards and associated information such as rewards and benefits is constructed automatically by accessing information available at card provider websites and using a large language model (LLM) to parse the information. With user permission, when the user initiates a purchase, their shopping context (e.g., seller platform, item categories, amounts, etc.) is accessed and their stored payment cards are compared against the database to identify the optimal payment method. This payment method is suggested to the user via an autofill mechanism, with the associated benefits highlighted. User permission is obtained for accessing purchase-related information and stored card information. Users are provided with options to turn off autofill individually for certain transactions or for certain shopping websites, or turn it off completely.
