Abstract
This document describes moving and/or resizing elements within two-dimensional (2D) panel layouts in three-dimensional (3D) space in extended reality (XR) systems such as augmented reality (AR) glasses and/or head mounted display (HMD) devices. A software developer may have an existing application that includes a 2D user interface. The developer may adapt the application for use in a 3D environment, such as within an XR system, for example. The developer can move and/or resize an element of the existing application, such as a 2D user interface (UI), that is displayed in 3D within the XR system, such that one or more other elements that are displayed along with the element are automatically moved and/or resized (e.g., modified) in the XR system along with modification of the element. The developer can apply moving and/or resizing techniques typically found in 2D environments within a 3D environment, such as an XR system.
