Abstract

This disclosure describes techniques to perform load shaping of computational loads assigned to data center clusters based on current and/or forecasted cooling capacity constraints of the data center. Telemetry signal(s) are received from different points within the cooling system infrastructure and data center infrastructure. Hydraulic and/or temperature-based thresholds are determined based on ambient environment conditions. If it is determined that one or more telemetry signals meet the determined threshold, the load on the data center cluster(s) is adjusted. Trigger signals are transmitted from the thermal control server to an actuation server which issues commands to cap, shed, and/or throttle commands to data center clusters. A centralized entity may be notified that a cooling emergency condition is ongoing to enable suitable workload adjustment of future workloads.
