Abstract
Systems and techniques are described as providing an enhanced and more pleasurable experience for a user when viewing media content. The user may interact with a television (TV) application running on a media player. The TV application may interface with media content providers to fetch media content for streaming to and viewing on the media player by way of the internet. The media player may be a computing device (e.g., a Smart TV, a tablet computer, a smart phone, a laptop computer, a mobile computing device, a desktop computing device, etc.) connected to a network and interfaced to the internet.
The user may want to alter aspects or parameters for the media content that would enhance or improve the experience of the user when watching the media content. For example, the user may want to alter parameters associated with the characters in the media content that may include but are not limited to the ethnicity of a character, and the voice of a character. In another example, the user may want to alter aspects of the plot of the media content that may include but are not limited to the narrative voice for the media content, the ending or final scene for the media content, and the geographic location setting for the media content. In another example, the user may want to replace a character in the media content with another character. In another example, the user may want to replace the actor playing a character in the media content with another actor that the user prefers.
