Abstract

This disclosure describes techniques to reduce the costs and inefficiencies associated with providing redundancy in networks by using self-healing network architectures. The techniques feature quantum-inspired routing algorithms (QIRA) and bio-inspired self-healing (BISHA). QIRA leverages quantum principles to concurrently explore multiple paths and to share information about network conditions through quantum entanglement. BISHA leverages cellular automata to mediate inter-device communication, such that when a failure is detected, the device is isolated and information about the failure is communicated to neighboring devices. The neighboring devices collaborate to reconfigure the network topology and reroute data traffic around the failed component. Machine learning algorithms, modeled after biological immune systems, can be used to continuously monitor the network for anomalies and potential failures.
