Abstract
A leak detection gutter for liquid-cooled pluggable optical modules is provided. This gutter is a drip-catching and detection assembly consisting of a plastic tray designed to capture and direct any leaks onto a leak detection cable. The assembly is positioned beneath one or multiple liquid connections associated with a pluggable optical module (POM) or an array of POMs. Additionally, it can be used beneath or adjacent to any other component, liquid connection, or tubing run related to a liquid-cooled circuit assembly, such as a packet optical circuit assembly or a data center interconnect circuit assembly, to name a few examples. Leak detection is crucial for any liquid-cooled product, and as future high-performance, high-power devices in networking, computing, and similar fields increasingly require liquid cooling—especially for pluggable optical modules—this solution becomes essential.
