Abstract
Proposed herein is a Metrics Transfer Protocol (MTP), which is a highly efficient and specialized protocol engineered for the rapid and streamlined transfer of metric data between clients and servers. By utilizing dual connections for control and data, MTP ensures that metrics are initialized accurately and that subsequent updates, reflecting only the changes or deltas, are communicated with minimal overhead. This design is ideal for applications requiring real-time performance monitoring, as it minimizes network latency and resource usage, providing a lightweight alternative to more general-purpose protocols, such as Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and the like.
