Abstract
This disclosure relates to the field of ground printers (Fig. 1). These units are used to draws lines on the floor, by moving while printing what architects and engineers project in their computer and transform digital plans into real floorplan, accelerating constructions building and speeding up their job.
A method is disclosed to create a collaborative printing mode to reduce the printing time and ensure job printing completion. Several ground printers will share the same job, print different areas and update their progress so the control system knows the areas that are already printed.
A central processor will define the parts of the job that every printer will do, monitor execution and redefine the plan (how to share the job) in real-time. This is because ground printers should find obstacles or objects in their way, that should slow down production, or have a technical problem that prevents it from finishing the job.
