Abstract

Conventional digital experience monitoring and synthetic testing methods can only monitor and test one active network path, which limits their effectiveness in generating a robust network solution. For example, conventional methods do not leverage information about potential alternate paths formed by standby devices, thus leading to lost opportunities to proactively prevent and/or respond to device degradation. In order to address such issues, proposed herein are techniques that generate an integrated visualization that dynamically overlays device status and performance data on network paths involving redundant devices. The integrated visualization provides a tomographic view of device performance for all potential paths in a network, thus enhancing users’ ability to learn, generate, and test network solutions.
