Abstract

The techniques of the present disclosure utilize the soundbox or any embedded device (e.g., a POS machine) to facilitate RTP in the UPI payments system using contactless cards. In the present disclosure, the consumers are provided with the contactless cards by issuer banks just like normal payments cards (e.g., debit/credit cards). The consumers may apply for the contactless cards via 3rd party payment applications or directly from banks. In the present disclosure, a contactless card reader and a number pad is attached with the soundbox or the embedded device, where the merchant enters the payment amount for static QR codes or in Dynamic QR codes Point of Sale (POS) machines are integrated with UPI SDK and based on the payments amount, the QR code is generated. The consumer just use the contactless card to complete the payment transaction (in tap-to-pay mode).
