Abstract
Students learning new concepts may not grasp the different aspects of the concept immediately and need problem-solving practice. However, conventional textbooks do not tailor problem sequences to individual needs. This disclosure describes the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to automatically determine a student’s proficiency and to generate new and personalized problems that are tailored to the determined proficiency. Personalized generation of problems, performed with specific permission, can help students learn concepts. The generative AI can also track a student’s progress and can adjust problem complexity to ensure that the student is provided sufficient variety in practice to allow them to master the concept.
