Abstract
Segment Routing (SR) is the most widely adopted backbone routing technology. Within an SR context, techniques are presented herein that support an algorithm under which policy restoration will not lead to any bandwidth contention on target links. The presented techniques ensure that a customer’s backbone traffic will remain free of disruptions by carrying out proactive bandwidth optimization operations across each SR policy and each link in an SR network.
