Abstract
Systems for LED indicator tamper detection using light characteristics are disclosed. In one embodiment an LED indicator assembly may include a light source within the LED indicator assembly configured to emit light having a known output light characteristic, a cover window to reflect a component of the light emitted by the light source, an ambient light sensor within the LED indicator assembly configured to receive the light emitted by the light source and background light, and one or more processors in communication with the light source and ambient light sensor, wherein the processors control the output light and compares the received light characteristics to known light characteristics.
