Abstract

Some countries like the US and Canada have specific regulatory and certification with strict SAR certification criteria to ensure that end user can be safe without health risks while using wireless electrical communication devices due to radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field by specific wireless radio modules transmit power via it embedded antennas. In another word, the TX power of the wireless radio module inside the wireless communication device may need to be reduced more to meet SAR certification criteria when the gap between the human body and system embedded antenna becomes smaller, which normally results in wireless communication performance and distance degradation when connecting with AP or BS and cause bad user experience. To meet SAR certification, most tablet devices need to reduce more TX power considering the gap between the human body and system embedded antenna is closer than notebook devices.
