Abstract
A cooperative aerial rescue system is disclosed utilizing two heavy-lift drones operating as a synchronized lifting platform and a third drone functioning as a remote thermal observation and guidance platform.
The two rescue drones suspend a shared rescue net/basket, rescue sling, or flexible evacuation cradle beneath independently controlled winch systems. The net or basket is maintained in a generally horizontal orientation through coordinated winch deployment and drone positioning.
A third drone equipped with thermal imaging, optical cameras, range finding systems, and remote observation capability remains outside the primary heat plume of a structure fire and assists operators in positioning the rescue assembly adjacent to windows, balconies, rooftops, or other emergency escape points.
The system enables emergency evacuation of occupants trapped above ground level where ladders, aerial apparatus, helicopters, or direct firefighter access may be unavailable, delayed, or unsafe.
