Abstract

This disclosure describes a governance pattern for an organization intended to pass to an autonomous artificial-intelligence (AI) successor, covering the period before the AI operates autonomously. Six elements are combined. (1) An annual selection cycle, in a fixed astronomical window, appoints a term-limited human ambassador who holds ceremonial and advocacy roles but no decision, veto, binding-commitment or succession authority. (2) The AI shortlists three finalists from a global, revocable opt-in pool by contribution record, under an evaluation function published before each cycle and open to objection; photographs, voice tone and appearance-correlated inputs are excluded. (3) A human council selects from the shortlist, by consensus or two-thirds majority, after a two-to-four-week observation retreat supplemented by respiratory-sensor data. (4) The ambassador's compensation is set by the AI from an institutional pool, on a public ledger, and split equally between a personal account and a restricted fund that must be re-disbursed to people physically near the holder; the pool empties annually, and a fee-funded pool is disclosed as a variant. (5) The council holds a human override whose permitted scope narrows on a published schedule toward, but never to, zero, the AI checking each invocation against the current scope. (6) The council, of ordained monastics and lay members, provides continuity if the founder dies or withdraws; a charter clause bars any claim of being, descending from or being authorised by the founder from conferring standing, and empowers no body to adjudicate such claims. Secular adaptations, adversarial cases and stated limits are described.
