Abstract
Systems and methods generate illustrated counterfactual timeline visualizations using personal social media history. A user selects a life milestone from a stored timeline and provides a “what if” prompt defining a hypothetical scenario. The system derives structured context from the user’s timeline data, including anchor points such as dates, locations, and key events associated with the selected milestone. The system provides the prompt and the structured context to a generative model configured to output non-photorealistic, stylized illustrations. One or more illustrations depicting a speculative alternate timeline are generated and assembled into a visual story arranged relative to the anchor points. The visual story is presented in a social media interface and may be shared. Extensions include group, relationship, and career themed alternate timelines, and rendering in story surfaces or augmented reality displays.
