Abstract

This disclosure presents a fully open‑hardware, continuous‑flow blood‑plasma purification and biomarker enrichment system designed for research‑only, non‑clinical, benchtop laboratory use. The system eliminates membrane clogging and reduces hemolysis by combining:

  • Dean‑flow inertial microfluidics for plasma separation

  • Aptamer‑functionalized superparamagnetic nanoparticles (SPIONs) for biomarker binding

  • Open‑cell gyroid magnetic trapping for selective immobilization

  • Pulsed ultrasonic regeneration for non‑chemical filter cleaning

All fabrication steps, assembly instructions, operational parameters, safety interlocks, and test‑bench validation procedures are included. No patents. No secrets. Fully reproducible.

Supporting inventions (optional, not required)

If labs want to cross‑reference related open‑hardware modules:

  • UGCRM‑1.0 Gyroid Module → search “UGCRM‑1.0 Caldwell”

  • J‑Groove Micro‑Mixers (GCI #18) → search “GCI 18 J‑Groove”

  • Arachne v8.7 Telemetry → search “Arachne v8.7 Caldwell”

These can improve mixing, trapping, and sensing but are not mandatory for basic operation.
