Abstract
A business messaging smart composer provides a composer-native mode switcher for selecting a thread-specific level of AI participation. A selected mode persists per conversation thread and controls AI behavior. In a manual mode, the user composes messages without AI draft insertion. In a suggested mode, an AI-generated suggested reply card presents a preview that can be tapped to load content into the composer for editing prior to user-authorized sending, with a coaching card shown when no useful suggestion is available. In an AI reply mode, AI-generated replies are automatically sent, with handoff to a human user when handling criteria are not met. The system generates responses using conversation and business context and applies triggering and suppression rules for suggestions, while visually differentiating modes in the user interface.
