Abstract
Recipient-specific watermarking of query results applies a per-recipient signal to the rows returned from a query, an API endpoint, or a streaming feed, so that structured data delivered as live query responses, rather than as static files, carries an attribution signal that survives normal analytical use. The watermark is embedded in the response payload at the moment the query is answered, and is keyed to the recipient identity associated with the request. When a later-observed copy of the data appears to have originated from the producer, the producer can match residual signals in the copy against the recipient keys it used at response time.
