Abstract
This publication describes a hardware-based approach for an adaptive acknowledgment request mechanism with rate limiting within a reliable transport protocol offload engine. The approach aims to balance low upper layer protocol operation latency and timely congestion feedback against the overhead of excessive acknowledgment packets.
