Abstract
Disclosed is a split pouch for use in a Balearic sling, constructed from flexible thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Each pouch half measures approximately 6 inches in length by 7/8 inch in width, with rounded ends featuring eyelets for cord attachment. The pouch thickness tapers from 2 mm at the ends to 1 mm in the middle for optimal flexibility. One half incorporates protruding gear teeth, while the opposing half features concave gearing; both include a central shaft for alignment. When cords are secured through the eyelets, the halves can be twisted relative to each other, adjusting the central split opening to securely retain large ammunition (e.g., tennis balls) in a wide configuration or small ammunition (e.g., rocks or marbles) in a closed configuration. The design maintains the adjusted position under centrifugal force during use.
