Abstract

This disclosure describes a data storage system that integrates a compact atomic clock directly into the storage device hardware to provide high-precision timing and long-term stability. Unlike conventional oscillators, this integrated atomic clock offers a drift of less than 1 microsecond per day, ensuring the integrity of data ordering and synchronization. The system is particularly beneficial for applications requiring reliable timestamps, such as blockchain ledgers, autonomous navigation in GPS-denied environments, and secure cryptographic logging. By providing local, autonomous precision timing, the storage system enhances resilience for edge computing, space-based deployments, and distributed architectures.
