Abstract

GCI #280, the Vortex Atmospheric Reclamator (VAR), is an open-hardware concept for decentralized atmospheric water harvesting. It combines vortex-assisted airflow management, passive radiative cooling, droplet-shedding condensation surfaces, integrated purification, and layered safety control to produce potable water from ambient air without compressor-based refrigeration.

This document is an online-only conceptual disclosure. It is not a patent, not a commercial product, and not a claim of validated field performance. It is published so real-world engineers, makers, humanitarian teams, and researchers can evaluate the idea, build prototypes, and test whether it performs better than current systems in the real world.
