Abstract

The present disclosure describes a system and method for achieving active thermal balance across multiple power modules connected in parallel. By monitoring the voltage, current, and operating temperature of each module, a control engine identifies thermal imbalances that may persist even when current sharing is implemented. The control engine adjusts operational parameters, such as duty cycle, switching frequency, and deadtime, to redistribute the thermal load among the modules. This coordinated adjustment reduces thermal stress and temperature swings, thereby extending the operational lifetime of the power supplies and improving overall system reliability.

Keywords: Active thermal balance, power module, thermal stress redistribution, current sharing, pulse width modulation, control engine, duty cycle adjustment, switching frequency, deadtime control.
