Abstract
This paper describes a camera tracking based touch interface that has the capability to dynamically switch between a keyboard and a trackpad based on relative hand positioning configurations. The camera tracking based touch interface, in order to execute its functionalities, will utilize a computer system, a dual camera module and an external touch screen. The user of the camera tracking based touch interface will have the capability to utilize the associated computer system. And the user will have the capability to utilize the touch screen as a keyboard when required and will have the capability to utilize the touch screen as a trackpad when required. This switchable dual capability will be achieved by utilizing the dual camera module. In this scenario, with the assistance of the dual camera module, and by tracking the user’s relative hand positioning configurations, the computer system will dynamically switch the functioning mode of the touch screen between the keyboard and the trackpad.
