Abstract
Offshore activity can create significant noise pollution in the ocean. This can occur in offshore drilling but is prominent and severe in pile driving of offshore wind foundations.
A "bubble curtain" has been shown to be an effective solution in reducing noise from offshore activities. See BBC article "How bubble curtains protect porpoises from wind farm noise" for details and benefits of such an application.
By creating a porous flexible pipe, with on-bottom stability provides a step change over current perforated hoses. Methods for creating a porous pipe are detailed in attached sketch's
