Abstract

An internal test fixture and method for evaluating wear resistance of vehicle interior trim components subjected to repeated elbow contact are disclosed. The fixture comprises a single pneumatic actuator coupled with a modular load applicator configured to deliver predefined normal loads, and an electronic control system based on a programmable microcontroller. The system enables reciprocating motion of a contact element over a test specimen to simulate customer interaction under controlled conditions. The disclosed fixture integrates standardized load modules and simplified control architecture to improve repeatability and reduce setup complexity.
