Abstract
System and method for utilizing a vehicle’s onboard sensor suite, external connectivity, and artificial intelligence (AI) to detect or predict if snow accumulation has reached a depth sufficient to obstruct the exhaust tailpipe. By analyzing weather data and real-time imagery from 360-degree cameras, the system determines the risk of carbon monoxide (CO) seepage into the cabin during a remote start event. Mitigation strategies include operating in electric-only mode for hybrid vehicles, limiting engine runtime for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, adjusting HVAC intake settings to prioritize fresh air, and utilizing active suspension to increase ground clearance.
