Abstract
This disclosure relates to utilizing a prompt modifier in Uniform Resource Locator (URL) functionality, which allows Artificial Intelligence (AI) prompts to be utilized directly within a URL. The prompt modifier may allow a browser to load a webpage and execute an AI prompt within the context of that page’s content. By using the prompt in the URL, users can share both an original webpage and specific instructions defining how an AI system should interact with it. This may facilitate the distribution of AI-assisted interpretations or transformations using a single, familiar mechanism. In various implementations, the disclosure provides a process that includes a step for detecting a URL containing a prompt entered or selected by a user. An AI system, utilizing a machine learning model, parses the URL and prompt, triggering or invoking the browser to load a target webpage. Once loaded, the prompt and contents of the target webpage are provided to the AI system, and the AI system may generate output for the prompt. The AI system operates in a co-browsing mode with access to the Document Object Model (DOM); notably, the contents of the original target webpage remain unchanged, while AI-generated output is presented as a distinct augmentation.
