The innovation relates generally to assistive technologies for the visually impaired. More specifically, it pertains to systems and methods for sensory substitution that can translate a 360- degree visual and depth data field into a comprehensive, full-body haptic map, thereby providing comprehensive situational awareness and navigation capabilities.
