Abstract
Zooming into a panoramic image can take many steps. Once zoomed in, it can be difficult to navigate through, observe features, and work with the image. The disclosure describes a thumbnail slider, a tool that enables rapid navigation through and zooming into wide (or long) images such as panoramas. The described thumbnail slider enables the user to view the entirety of the panorama with speed and fluidity. Simultaneously, it enables the user to zoom into details with fewer taps, pinches, or other gestures. Navigation across the panorama is achieved with a fewer number of swipes. The thumbnail slider enables accurate and versatile scroll control.
