Abstract
Proposed herein are innovative techniques that enable a user in an online meeting to naturally, conveniently, and intuitively promote a local laptop to become the primary meeting device in a meeting room. Participants in the same meeting room are grouped together and represented as a single group in the video feed of the online meeting. This approach ensures that participants in the conference room are no longer perceived by remote participants as isolated, individual attendees. Instead, they appear as a group attending from the same physical space, thereby creating a more natural online meeting experience.
