Abstract

Digital media platforms may utilize ad-supported models that can present users with a high volume of advertisements, or subscription models that can include a price barrier. This disclosure describes a system for brand-sponsored platform subscriptions that can function as a hybrid monetization model. A method may allow a user to opt into a sponsorship from a single brand or a curated bundle of brands to receive access to platform features, such as those associated with a paid subscription, at a reduced or no monetary cost. In exchange, the user's platform experience can be modified for a defined period. This modification can include themed ad delivery, where advertisements served to the user may be limited to the sponsor or sponsors. The system can also implement dynamic user interface theming to alter the platform's appearance to correspond with the sponsor's brand identity or a collective bundle theme. This provides a framework where users may access subscription-level features in exchange for receiving a brand-themed experience with sponsored advertising.
