Abstract
Conventional search and shopping systems may not be optimized for gift-giving queries, which can involve high user uncertainty and emotional intent, potentially resulting in generic product recommendations. The described technology details a personalized gifting agent that can initiate a multi-turn, conversational journey to assist a user with such queries. The system may use a dynamic dialogue engine to elicit information, for example through contextual polls, about a recipient's persona and a gift-giver's intent. Based on this input, the agent can curate a set of recommendations by, for example, bundling complementary products, rewriting generic descriptions into personalized copy, and re-contextualizing product images into lifestyle visuals. This approach can transform the search process into a guided consultation, which may improve the relevance of suggestions and assist users in identifying gifts that align with their goals.
