Abstract
Embodiments allow for binding an account number (e.g., a primary account number (PAN)) with a digital identity card (e.g., mobile driver’s license (mDL)). During a transaction between a user (e.g., account holder) and a transacting entity (e.g., merchant, resource provider), where the user presents a token associated with the PAN, even though the user ID information is not shared with the transacting entity, the transaction processing server can know that the user ID information was linked in the past from the binding between the PAN and the digital ID and can verify authenticated use (or identify fraudulent use) immediately.
