Abstract
Many public Wi-Fi networks are vulnerable to "Evil Twin Attacks" in which rogue access points can be deployed that may mimic legitimate networks in an effort to steal sensitive user information or the like. Techniques herein address such issues by providing Wi‑Fi clients/users with the ability to verify network ownership before joining a Wi-Fi network. This eliminates the attack surface by enabling Wi-Fi clients/users to trust the W-Fi access points to which they connect.
