Abstract

This document describes techniques that enable a computing device (e.g., a personal computer, laptop, smartphone, smart watch, server system, etc.) to provide assistance and/or companionship to a player of a game application using an intelligent software agent (e.g., artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning model, etc.). Gaming environments may present challenges such as difficult learning curves, slow progression, complicated/unintuitive mechanics, and/or hostile social interactions. The intelligent agent may mitigate these challenges by acquiring game knowledge (e.g., via observing and learning from the player, “playing” the game on its own, training on tutorials and/or other instructional material, etc.) and offering in-game guidance to the player. The intelligent agent may integrate directly into the player’s gaming ecosystem (e.g., attaching to the player’s profile). Additionally, the intelligent agent may manage game updates/installations, financial aspects (e.g., via tracking in-game spending and/or finding discounts), and facilitate safe social connections with like-minded players (e.g., helping discover gaming communities and/or social groups). In some examples, the intelligent agent may also collaborate and exchange information with other players’ agents, allowing for proxy social engagements to maintain player privacy and safety. In this way, the techniques of this disclosure may streamline the gaming experience, enhance user safety, and improve player engagement by offering a dynamic, personalized digital companion.
