Abstract
Provided herein are techniques for designing "G" shaped non-functional pads in vias of SERDES (Serializer-Deserializer) channels to reduce common mode noise that can be caused by twice the Nyquist frequence of SERDES signals, which commonly causes SERDES radio frequency issues for 25.78 Gigahertz (GHz) and 26.56GHz signals. Advantageously, the "G" shaped non-functional pad design proposed herein can reduce common mode noise while not impacting SERDES differential signals.
