Abstract

Direct slot cooling is one of the important methods used in electric motors to enhance efficiency and performance. Although direct cooling significantly improves power density, it requires sealing of rotor space from the stator space to avoid oil getting into rotor space. The solution proposes a composite sealing tube placed into the air gap between stator and rotor and sealed by the O-rings on the outer diameter. The solution separates stator and rotor cavity to prevent ingress of coolant into the rotor cavity.
