Abstract
This algorithm enables calculation of dip in the downhole tool while drilling.
Strong correlation can be seen between rotating azimuth estimates and rotating dip. Given that dip should be constant and known, it could be used as an indicator to validate the rotating azimuth estimates from the algorithm..
Investigation is ongoing as to whether this could be used as a QC and beneficial for wellbore positioning services.
