Abstract
A Bluetooth low energy (BLE) advertisement consumes one of a limited number of advertising slots, consumes the limited energy of a battery, and leads to duplication in cases where a discoverer understands more than one advertisement. Multiple simultaneous BLE advertisements are spectrally and energy-wise inefficient. This disclosure describes techniques that support multiple visibility scopes and use cases simultaneously with a single BLE advertisement. Per the techniques, multiple visibility scopes are modeled from a single key seed by constructing a series of key seeds using the original key seed as the starting value. Each subsequent link represents successively broader visibility scopes.
