Abstract

An Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) embodies the fundamental component of a telescope. In OTAs used for astronomical telescopes- as well as those for rifle scopes and photographic lens optical systems- embodiments often include threaded assemblies for ease of use and obvious utility to the user. Unlike optical tube assemblies like those used in riflescopes and camera lenses, which use threaded designs for selective functions, this invention consolidates fixturing, adjustment, and light scatter management into a single, integrated design which can be assembled and disassembled by hand, reducing or eliminating the need of additional tools for assembly, adjustments and maintenance, and time invested therein.
