Abstract
Techniques are provided for improving the security of a payment card while online/offline transactions. The system includes a payment card which generates Randomized Card Counter (RCC) using Linear Congruential Generator (LCG). The payment card generates a Dynamic Unique Card Identifier (DUCI) using one way function (e.g. Hash). The DUCI is generated based on the RCC and the PAN associated with the payment card. Further, a database is generated based on the RCC and DUCI pair for each PAN. To consume a reduced amount of memory only 1000 pair of RCC and DUCI are calculated for each PAN. Further, the DUCI is mapped to a static identifier accordingly to prevent fraudulent.
