Abstract

On devices with multiple input modalities, it can be difficult to ensure input accuracy, false palm detection, and provide low latency in the user experience of providing input and receiving corresponding response. Latency can come from the operating system application, or firmware catching up with speedy input from the user. In current devices, data from various input sources is used independently which can cause false palm detection and also introduces latency. This disclosure describes a central multi-sensor input hub (sensor hub) that enhances user input experiences on devices that support multiple input devices. The sensor hub can be implemented as part of a device operating system. The sensor hub integrates information from various input devices and sensors to support a combined analysis of user interactions. An AI model is implemented that uses the combined data to make decisions such as palm rejection. With the use of combined data, user intent can be determined accurately, improving accuracy.
